Funny the HCSO has all the fancy lit up signs to districts, divisions, and departments. Funny how they have all the new cars and buildings, yet the units within those buildings do nothing and the critical first responder units are very short handed.

Has that fancy expensive sign screen contraption at the range at the end of the long entrance road, that is supposed to tell you where to go for inservice or whatever training ever worked? Or was it just another waste of money?

The HCSO pay scale. Colorful, fancy, and with the HCSO name and star on top. All the graphics, yet the numbers are shit. I’m surprised “you know who” doesn’t have his name plastered across the top in big bold letters.

Compared to TPD. See the simplicity with “PBA” on top? Showing far pay better numbers.

Let’s add insult to injury and look at the officer to citizen ratio? How equipped is the HCSO on the street level? Why are there squads still operating with five deputies or less? How are there still unmanned zones? How is an agency that is almost 20” years old no figured this out yet? Meanwhile, millionaire politicians with businessmen mentalities run this agency and buy buildings, remodel offices, add departments, ad divisions, create even more executive staff positions that many agencies throughout the country do not have.

1.4 is being generous. You know how many “sworn” deputy sheriffs working here, to include all ranks, do literally zero police work and are in zero danger throughout their cushy work environments.

And they still dare ask why morale is down? Why so many have resigned? They still blame supervisors and place the morale burden on them? Front line supervisors have been set up to fail as much as our street deputies.

Add their BS toxic “positivity” propaganda during daily roll calls and meetings which is actually manipulation. They are basically telling us to act as if morale is good and to not speak up or face their usual targeting via petty write ups, transfers, poor evaluations, try push you push you out games.

A lot of deputies are not happy with how the HCSO lowered its hiring standard. I don’t like it either, but why not? Why does the HCSO think it even deserves to run high standards? Why does it think it can run with big dog agencies? Between their pay, their chronically low officer to citizen ratio, toxicity, employee turnover (if you can call it that because they can barely replace anyone), and and poor morale, why shouldn’t they be the agency low quality people go work at that can’t get hired at truly elite agencies? Thats the very bed they made by trying to force high quantity and high quality with low pay.

Why does the HCSO demand quality and quantity plus low pay? You can only have one or the other. If you want both, DOUBLE our staff and match our pay with TPD. No matter how hard you push and threaten your front lines to work harder to the point of burnout. Cracks have formed and the ship is sinking. All you are doing is driving your loyal hard working deputies away to to worse things like substance abuse or suicide.

We need a union and a complete executive staff reset.

Ever notice that the new HCSO business card follow this same pattern? The old cards, pre Chad era, simply said Hillsborough County Sgeriff’s Office with a small simple sheriffs Star. The rest was to write down case information for crime victims. There was plenty of room to write your name, case number, and phone extension. Plus room to put a note or title like “Stolen wallet” or “Stolen drivers license” for victims to use at the DMV and so on.. No name of the sheriff. Just a useful card where you could write big enough for people to see.

The new HCSO business card, AKA “Vote for Chad” cards, literally have the name “Chad Chronister taking up the entire bottom 25% of the card. Another 25% is taken up by a giant sheriffs star and graphics rendering 50% of the card USELESS. You have to write so small, that I keep a fine tip felt pen in my car just to fill out case info on the cards and older folks can’t even read them, so half the time, I write the case info on a piece of paper.

This is the exact detached leaders mentality that applies to just about everything they do. If they can’t see this with business cards, how the heck do they handle the big things?

Again, not thinking about the boots on the ground and the citizens they serve.

Yeah, it’s all for money and political gain instead of service. Their intentions are clear as day. We are just big “vote for me” advertisements. Litteraly developers and millionaire run this agency from behind the scenes. The state is no different. This county has exploded in population, apartment complexes, sub divisions, businesses, and so on yet we basically have the same amount of deputies or less on the street as ten years ago. There are people making millions of dollars off of all this construction with our leaders getting kick backs in some way or another. No matter how they spin it or clean it up.

Here is a good one. During the Covid era, signs with instructions on how to wash your hands were put up in all the HCSO bathrooms, I shit you not when I tell you that the instructions were the same basic ones you seen at hospital bathrooms for decades instead at the HCSO, almost 50% of the top of the sign had “Chad Chronister” and the sheriff star. The instructions could have been half the size. I mean even during a deady pandemic in the bathroom you could not get away from his political crap.

Meanwhile…

Old towns and unincorporated cities in this county that were safe are now just crime ridden extensions of Fowler or Florida Ave. Some areas like New Tampa and Brandon are basically open air mental hospitals with cops being used as county general mental hospital orderlies.

It’s sad for all us common people just trying to work and/or live here.

Here is another example. Do you remember the hand washing signs they put up in all the HCSO bathrooms? The once’s we have all seen in hospital bathrooms with instructions on how to wash your hands. The HCSO put up their own versions. It was basically the same exact old instructions we have seen for decades except the top 25-50% of the sign had the name “Chad Chronister” on it with a giant gold star and that stupid ass Z shaped graphic he puts on everything. Even during a deadly pandemic that guy found a way to exploit everyone and get his name out there.

Meanwhile, old unincorporated cities like Brandon or newer ones like New Tampa have become open air mental hospitals with its few deputies acting as orderlies. Basically extensions of Fowler Ave and Florida Ave. Crime ridden open are mental hospitals.

Meanwhile, these millionaire developers build build and build irresponsibly causing the population to explode. And for what? Insanely high housing prices? A volatile taxing system? No resources? We still have the same, if not less, deputies on the street as we did 10 or 15 years and while the agency’s budget basically doubled.

It’s one big political scam. The deputies and the public are on the back burner. Only their political gain and making those millions matter. These millionaire family members and developers are running the show. The state is no different. A bunch of scammers.
