Daily roll calls

Let me show you the game of abuse HCSO leaders. They punish deputies with daily roll calls and weekly line inspections in the name of “holding them accountable.” For what? To make the agency appear legitimate? 99% of the time it’s command staff or some fancy undercover detective unit are the ones that screws up. For the most part, the day in day out street deputies come to work and do their jobs without issue.

Daily roll calls and weekly staff inspections means on every shift a supervisor or lieutenant physically puts eyes on their deputies and physically sees that a squad may have 2 or 3 deputies working that day, that mid shift, or that night shift. Every shift seeing how short handed we are. They physically see the same squads averaging 3-5 deputies for months even years. In 2017 we were told we would have a minimum of 13 deputies per squad. In 2009, we were told 4 deputies per zone minimum at all times. Thats with the 4 zone deployment model.

Do lieutenants even report these low staffing numbers to their captains? Are they too scared to? Do they but captains don’t care? Does anyone give a fuck? Are they scared they won’t get promoted? Are they scared to step up to their colonel, chiefs, or undersheriff? Do they fear retaliation and blacklisting?

They act tough on the front line deputies and detectives but have no balls to stand up to the people in charge that caused you to be short handed in the first place.

Easier to threaten a deputy with a write up for speaking up rather than standing up to the executive staff huh? Easy to try and make your senior deputies and detectives to quit huh?

What the hell is going on?

What will it take for things to change?

How about when they would distribute the stats forms and make you read them from left to right showing the deputy activity, yet nobody held them accountable for information reading from the top down showing how many deputies were on a squad. When those forms only showed 5, 6, or 7 deputies on squads that should have a minimum of 12 nobody cared. They showed how tough they could be on us for low stats but had no balls to question low staffing.

And some lieutenants actually have the audacity to ask their platoon why morale is so low? Clueless hypocrites.
